CARLSBAD, Calif., July 14 11, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — WCG Cares, an international nonprofit organization committed to increasing access to essential sexual and reproductive health (SRH) commodities and services in low- and middle-income countries, announced a sweeping change of name today, changing its name to Catalyst Global.
The main impetus behind this rebranding is to reinforce the organization’s growth, commitments and sense of urgency to close the gap between innovation and access to quality reproductive health products.
“Over the past year, we have reflected on who we are. Is the organization, in its current form, best placed to drive bold change? Are we effectively communicating our values and our vision of our work? How could we adapt to better meet the needs? girls and women of the world?” said Shannon Bledsoe, Executive Director.
The organization envisions a world where everyone can exercise their sexual and reproductive rights and realize their true potential. Bledsoe said, “We need to be bold and visionary in order to create the kind of change needed and this rebranding is part of that effort.”
The name Catalyst Global is rooted in the idea that when women and girls have the freedom to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights, it is a catalyst for broader positive change in their individual lives, their communities and the world. . The vibrant, mixed-color logo within the “C” represents the change and transformation Catalyst Global is bringing as the organization engages with partners in projects and initiatives around the world.

In recent years, the organization has expanded access to 16 reproductive health products in more than 90 countries, including four self-care methods.
