THE 2022 Event Management class of BS Tourism Management (BSTM) 4A, 4B and 4C specializing in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions at the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHMT) at the Polytechnic University of Laguna State (LSPU), hosted a forum that featured Jerome Fernandez, educational consultant; Shaira Mae Bambo, General Chair of Events; Estelita Gapas, President, BSTM 4A; Joshelle Aubrey Rivera, President, BSTM 4B; Aysha Anne Solmoro, President, BSTM 4C and who was supported by Directors and Teams from different areas, namely Logistics and Administration, Marketing and Promotion, Certificate and Invitation, Program and Technical, Budget and Management, Games and Entertainment, and Documentation) and by Professor Charmaine Rivers, Dean, CHMT.

The recent forum celebrated the three interconnected glocal or global and local trends in the hospitality and tourism industry in the new millennium with the theme “Global and Local Resilience: Confronting and Overcoming the Breakthrough of Global Effect and challenges of the pandemic”.
The ceremony was opened with an inspiring message from Dr. Mario Briones, LSPU President and Vice Chairman of the LSPU Board of Trustees, along with Dr. Eden Callo, Vice President of Academic Affairs; Engineer Manuel Luis Alvarez, Campus Director of LSPU Sta. Campus Cruz; and guest of honor Dr. Azucena Palugna, Tourism Foreign Service Officer and Senior Tourism Officer for the Philippine Department of Tourism in San Francisco, USA.
Other speakers included Ma. Christina Aquino, President of the Tourism Industry Board Foundation Inc.; Joselito Las, in-flight cabin crew manager at Philippine Airlines and PAL Express; Mum. Dolores Salamanca, External Vice President of Guides Philippines in the New Millennium Inc. and Member of the Higher Education Commission and Human Resources Quality Assessment Team for Tourism, Human Resources and reception; Dr. Reynaldo Jorda, Department of Tourism licensed English tour guide for incoming groups and Professor at the Tourism Graduate School; Joel Pascual, president of Peptarsus Corp., publisher of World Food Magazine and vice president of the Philippine Convention and Exhibition Association; and Leonides Peña, Director of Cabin Crew Operations at Philippine Airlines and PAL Express.
