The system helps the company adapt to the rapidly changing business management environment
Samsung Electronics today announced that the company has successfully applied N-ERP, the next-generation ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)1) system in its 120 offices around the world.
ERP is a software system that supports all of a company’s activities, including finance, human resources, manufacturing, supply chain, services, procurement, and more. Together with SAP and Samsung SDS, Samsung’s N-ERP system was researched and designed as a business platform to support the company’s next ten years of innovation.
The N-ERP has enabled the pursuit of innovation to be in step with the latest corporate strategies. For example, various sales-related systems, once operated separately, have been integrated into a single system that supports multiple business convergence strategies, such as hardware and software product bundling and omnichannel operation. Professional solutions, such as transport management, extended warehouse management and supply chain collaboration, have also been integrated into a single system for efficient collaboration with production and logistics partners.
In addition, Samsung has adopted the latest in-memory database, which integrates and manages the processes of storing and operating data in the memory of the database server. It also sets up a scalable architecture to accommodate Big Data and the growing demand for data analytics.
N-ERP not only supports business innovation, but also helps employees focus on their core responsibilities and tasks. For example, manual labor can be minimized using new automated technologies such as robotic process automation (RPA), optical character recognition (OCR), and machine learning software frameworks.
