Etihad Rail signs four MoUs with international rail companies

Etihad Rail has signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with international companies such as SNCF International, the French national railway company; Alstom, a world leader in the green and smart mobility sector; Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, one of the world’s largest integrated and diversified providers of rail and mass transit products and services, and Thales Group, a global advanced technology leader serving industries such as defence, aeronautics, space, transport and digital domains of identity and security.

The signing of the agreements took place at InnoTrans 2022, the leading international exhibition for transport technologies, which took place in Berlin, Germany, from September 20 to 23, 2022.

The agreements, which were signed byofficials on both sides, aim to support the economic development of the UAE by stimulating the growth of the railway industry in the UAE and the region and cover key areas such as railway operation and maintenance, service facilities, passenger stations and transportation of goods while ensuring the integration of the latest technologies, the exchange of knowledge and expertise and investment in research and development.

In other developments, Etihad Rail has successfully completed the connection between the Abu Dhabi Industrial City Rail Freight Terminal (ICAD), which is the largest inland freight rail terminal in the country, and the national rail network. of the United Arab Emirates.
